Ches's Fish And Chips - St. John's

We visited this restaurant twice. The first time I had cod and it was lovely. The second time I had the salmon and it was fantastic!! The fries are perfect!

Ches's has a few locations in St. John's. They have great fish and chips for a fast food chain restaurant. Fast and good service.

Heard a lot about the place, so walked up all the hills from Water St.,just to get the fish. It was good, but not over the top. Wait staff were very friendly,helpful with directions, and the place was very clean. Just not quite as good as we had hoped.

Was told to by friend that they had really good fish and chips. very disappointed in fish. other dishes in restaurant looked a lot better than the fish.

We went to Che's Fish n' Chips on the recommendation by several people from St.John's. So on our last visit to this fair city we decided to give it a try...Not saying it was not good..just not the very best..My husband had the 2 piece Fish n' Chips & I had the Cod Bites..4 pieces...I would say the same amount of cod as the 2 piece..The batter was light & crip & the orders arrived piping hot, despite this..the food left an oily coating in your mouth..The fish was cooked well, very flakey & fresh tasting..We have a feeling that rave reviews from some people, are those who have not had the chance to try many Fish n' Chips at other places across the country...Maybe this is how they like it..with dressing, gravy & onions...Each to their own...Service & fast & friendly...no problems there..
