Be sure to include this spot in your beer tour of the Kitchener-Waterloo area! They have some great beers!
Block 3 consistently offers an impressive variety of beers that cater to all tastes. They have a refreshingly crisp lager that even those who don't typically enjoy craft beer will appreciate. I recently tried a double IPA that was incredibly smooth and delicious. Additionally, the restaurant is very pet-friendly, and the staff is outstanding. I always look forward to visiting whenever we're in town.
The beer selection is always impressive, and the atmosphere is fantastic. If you're in or near St. Jacobs, it's definitely worth a visit!
Good beer, but customer service could use some work.I hadn 't been to Block 3 since before covid (also, I moved further away). On Friday after work a neighbour and I decided to do a Block 3 run and each fill up 3 growlers (it 's about a 30 minute drive each way). We got there, weren 't really sure if they even filled growlers anymore as that was something that I think was dropped during covid. Guy at the bar (I suspect maybe an owner) was honestly kind of rude about it. Next time can you come in the middle of the day or something when we aren 't busy. I mean, I didn 't see people lined up, and sure there were lots of people there but I wouldn 't say it was packed or anything.. and I don 't think it really took that long, and heck, we were happy to wait if necessary. I still tipped 15% (normally I tip 20% these days) my neighbour did not tip at all.I 'm still giving 3 stars because the beer is good, but the customer service attitude sucks and I honestly can 't say for sure that I 'll go back. There would have been much friendlier ways to communicate a preference to not bring growlers during an inconvenient time for them. I guess we were really putting them out giving them $90 worth of revenue in 5 minutes. Must be nice to have that kind of money then I guess.
