It’s not always easy to find a nice café in the old city of St. Gallen, as they seem to be dying out due to a lack of pedestrians. Thus we considered ourselves lucky to get a small table on a recent rainy Saturday afternoon. All three servers we dealt with were quite friendly (special accolades to the elderly woman at the cashier – Mrs. Pfund herself? – who was jolly and spritely) but the prices were so high! CHF 6.20 for a latte macchiato and CHF 4.00 each for eensy, weensy cream pastries. And unfortunately they weren’t even that good. Five stars for the ladies but only two for the food and beverages. The prices do not justify going there again
