Chokka Block - St Francis Bay

Chokka Block has got a new owner in Clive. We have frequented this establishment many times over the past 15 years and is still blown away by the view of the harbour and surrounds. The new additions to the menu are well thought out and adds to the wide selection the peri peri chicken is prepared according to a special recipe resulting in a very succulent but fiery bird, with the seafood chowder deserving a special mention.

Chokka Block is a longstanding favourite restaurant of mine. Somewhat dated interior but a spectacular view over St Francis Bay harbour.Fish and Calamari are my favourites. The prawn cocktail with 'special ' pink sauce is best to be avoided. Also the Tartare sauce could taste so much better. That said, I still love to eat there look forward to next time :

Extremely expensive but the food is fantastic. Very tasty. The service quick considering its the eastern cape. Classic but average wine list. Haven't been back but will as soon as possible.

Delicious, delicious, delicious! If you're looking for fresh seafood, this is the place to be! It's a small restaurant situated by the harbor, where you can enjoy fantastic seafood while watching the fishing boats prepare to head out to sea. We ordered a seafood platter for two, and it was enormous!

The decor is perfect for a restaurant by the port. I tried the peri peri chicken Mozambique style, and it was fantastic. Others at my table ordered calamari, which was locally caught squid, and they really enjoyed it. Some also had hake, which was also excellent. This place is definitely worth a visit, especially for a view of a bustling harbor!
