What John Alhelm doesn't like about Pea Porridge:
I have mixed feelings about Pea Porridge. One one hand the service and food was excellent (although I will say my first experience of Wagyu beef was not as good as I expected). The dishes are however creative, stylish and tasty. On the other hand. The atmosphere was not for me. Almost. to my time of booking and taken directly to my table. the restaurant became more busy when the time went on, eventually became almost full. the menu is quite varied when it is a little limited cheese eater. had a wonderful brot that tasted like a delicious naanstarted with hardened silver-mullet, delicious and very beautifully presented. I finally chose the confit dee, elements were delicious, but presentation was a tad chaotic. coming from a Jewish background, I like my butter beans soft these were a bit too al dente for me. dessert was a sensational chocolate dessert with haselnuss custard, really stunning! as my profile shows, I am not a stranger to meelin eat nice, but not a zigarre for pornstars. the personal is very efficient and competent. toilet clean and well presented. was it worth the 165 miles round trip? for the starter and dessert yes!
Very good! interesting menu and wine list with some excellent specialties.
Grim and greedy in equal measure, customer service is a thought. these Kovid losses expose certain behavior.
Above excellent food.. Chef had to change his menu for my vegan palette and did so very successfully. Very well thought out dining experience. Wines were stunning. Service was to a very high standard and they were very knowledgeable about the food and wines. This was a special experience of tastes and well constructed food combinations.
