Another top notch meal from Orissa last night the best Indian in Bury by far. Recommendations from me would be the Chicken Ghassi lovely flavours or also the Vegetarian Thali, all elements top notch. Kohlapuri also a winner. Thanks Orissa. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Orissa Indian:
I had a disappointing experience with the lamb Pathia at this restaurant tonight. It was too sour and lacked any real flavor. This is the first time in 30 years that I didn't want to finish my curry. I'm sorry to say, but it was a terrible dish. View all feedback.
Can only review on our own experience and can only give full 5 stars for both the Food and the Service. The menu was exceptional and we all throughly enjoyed 4 different mains. Definitely return when we next visit Bury St Edmunds
Saw an offer 50% off. So we went along only to see that in fact it’s £10 off per head, so we didn’t bother. Look, if you advertise 50% off, then that’s what it should be, not £10 off per head. With starters, main, rice, side and bread and drinks it’s like 20% off not 50%. Shame, we like it here so just stop the 50% and say £10 off per head from final bill
The tarka daal lacked flavor and had a watery consistency. The aloo gobi did not taste like traditional aloo gobi, it seemed to be made with onion marmalade and sugar instead. The butter chicken also lacked flavor and was watery. If we had dined in, we would have sent all three dishes back to the kitchen. It was disappointing and felt like a waste of money.
I had to write a review because this place is amazing! From the modern decor and the friendly owner, Adnam, and his team, everything was excellent. The menu had a great selection, and the staff were very helpful in describing each dish to cater to our tastes. All the dishes were freshly cooked, and while we waited, we enjoyed a plate of poppadoms with various accompaniments. I ordered the tandoori chicken wrap, which was delicious. The homemade naan wrap was filled with tender chicken and salad, served with chili chips and mayonnaise dip. I had a draught Kingfisher with my meal. My husband enjoyed his Mumbai Murg Masala, a unique dish of chicken curry served with salad, potato sticks, and miniature naan breads. We noticed that many people had booked tables, while others were looking for a nice place to eat on a Saturday night. There were also many people ordering takeaway or having it delivered. We visited on a Saturday night while touring Bury St Edmunds and noticed a great deal for July, offering half-price meals. It's a great incentive for people to enjoy dining out despite the current cost of living. There was a variety of options for all ages, from children to couples and families. We will definitely return to Orissa when we visit Bury St Edmunds again!
