Description

Nestled in Pembrokeshire, the restaurant presents a striking contrast in dining experiences. While some visitors express frustration over lackluster Sunday lunches, marked by soggy starters and inattentive service, others celebrate impeccable meals that showcase culinary excellence. Diners rave about perfectly prepared dishes, notably the Lamb Rump, and commend the welcoming staff. Though prices may soar—reaching £100 for some—many argue that the food's quality justifies the expense. With vibrant flavors and polished service, this establishment holds the potential for a memorable meal, despite occasional lapses in execution. A mixed bag, it’s certainly a restaurant worth considering for those seeking high-end dining.

I’ve been fortunate enough to stay at the hotel and have enjoyed this restaurant multiple times over the years. My dining experience this past Monday was absolutely wonderful. Each dish perfectly prepared and an absolute smasher. The staff as always were excellent, and the 3 courses I chose upon the teams recommendation were world class stunners. I can’t speak highly enough of the entire experience. It really is the best in Pembs and my favourite meal since I visited Daniel restaurant in NYC last year.

Very disappointing! We went for Sunday lunch as a family, and it did not meet our expectations at all. We ordered four starters: the pancake rolls were soggy and served on wilted lettuce with brown edges; the prawn cocktail was laughable; and my pâté came with stale bread. One of the starters arrived about 12 minutes after everyone else had finished, which was unacceptable. The Sunday roast was decent, but it came with cauliflower cheese, which my daughter-in-law is allergic to, so we had to ask for a different vegetable option for her. The main course included Brussels sprouts (which are out of season) and a mash that was unidentifiable. Plus, no extra gravy was offered! I spoke with the server, who promised to talk to the chef and manager, but that was the last we heard from them—no apologies or discounts were offered. Absolutely shocking! AVOID this place!
