The food is always good and the atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable.

After reading other reviews, even I am shocked that I am leaving 1 star. To be clear, our service has nothing to do with the review. Ruth did as good of a job as anyone under the circumstances we experienced. To explain all the things gone wrong would take way too long, so I will give some lowlights. In summary though, for 4 people, 9 steaks were cooked and prepared wrong, and not just a little wrong but clearly wrong. We all ordered various steaks medium. The first round for all were very well done (and the waitress even said they caught one of them being overcooked and cooked another one). When 1 came back, if it was cooked for 30 seconds that would be generous, aa it was all blood red and cold. When another one came back, it was very well done again. Obviously the food is good if cooked right as the lobster and sides were very good. But with the time it took for us (over 3 hours) to complete this unacceptable meal along with us to be as patient as we were (the waitress had to bring one to the owner to prove how bad the third steak of 1 of the steak dinners was) and never have the owner or any manager come and talk to us, and then just to have 1 of the steak dinners comp’d along with a $9 desert, is an embarrassment to this establishment and ownership. We will never go back and I will tell this story to everyone I know as the worst experience I have ever had, and with this being such a nice place, that says a lot! I’m sure most people will ignore this as they have had great experiences here, but we deserved better!

Got the Chateaubriand For Two and was expecting a large portion of steak (since it was $109 and all). Menu does not at all specify the size of the Filet Mignon. What you actually receive is an extremely small portion of steak and a ton of random (barely seasoned) veggies. Instead of saying Filet Mignon and Plethora of Fresh Vegetables it should say Single Petite Filet Mignon for One and Rest of the 90% of the dish as the following unseasoned vegetables: [list veggies here].Only reason the review isn 't 2 stars is that the steak was actually cooked very well (medium rare).(Also, there 's half an apple in the dish for some reason lol... Apple ≠ Vegetable)

My wife and I went there for our anniversary. The food was fantastic and the staff was very attentive! They even brought us a complimentary dessert for our celebration.Definitely going back.

Food is sensational. The atmosphere is phenomenal, and the service is exceptional. My only negative, and it isn't that bad, is on our last visit, we went for a birthday dinner and had 9 guests. They wouldn't do separate checks, only 1 check per table, and though I was ok with it, the rest of the guests were annoyed. Otherwise, I highly recommend St. Charles Place Steakhouse!!
