I was aware of Chef Rennet's cooking skills from before. However, it had been 6-7 years since I last time had a chance to taste his cooking. Yet again, he didn't disappoint. The Panko Breaded Calamari (hand-cut, chef told me) was by far the best calamari I've ever tasted. And the 48 hr Pork Belly was full of different flavours. The restaurant seat about 90 ppl, has a nice wine list and draught beer selection of local varieties. Although the food is fine dining/home comfort food mixture, the atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable. Worth driving from Toronto.
Two of the mains involve Trout with Beluga lentils and Brazini with Lupini beans. Different, but beans would not be my first choice. The other 6 dishes were meat dishes which is to be expected. There was no vegetarian options for my guest, but the kitchen can accommodate. I was thinking if you can "accommodate" why not put it on the menu. The restaurant is very nice including the washrooms, but that lives up to what you expect for a high end and new restaurant.I recommend everybody have a look at the menu online. If the menu looks good to you I am certain you will love the preparation, the visual and the taste.
My wife and I have visited this new restaurant twice now and will definitely be going back again. We have been delighted with our experiences here and have decided that we will have to order our way through the menu.Every choice that we have made has rewarded us with a delicious meal. The flavours are outstanding and so well balanced that layer upon layer of tastes develop on the palate. We are looking forward to our next visit and to enjoying the future development of this wonderful establishment
While waiting to go the FirstOntario Performing Arts Matinee in St. Catharines, Ontario a couple of weeks ago, we decided to stop for lunch at the Krav Fine Grill & Bar. It was our first time there and since it was right across the street from the Performing Arts building, it was a really convenient place to stop and have a bite to eat.The menu was very pleasing and the home made gnocchi with special sauce was a real treat for an appetizer. The grilled calamari was fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff was very friendly and we met with one of the owners, Daryl Paulin, to thank him for the fine hospitality that we received. At that point, he offered to show us the dinner menu which certainly attracted us to return again. Thanks again to Paul and his staff for the delicious lunch and we'll see them down the road once more.
Great decor, nice location and the food was delicious. This was our first time here, we will difinitly be back.
