Gord's Place - St. Catharines

This place is so big. I like not being squished in. The Down East lobster poutine with Teragon is to die for. So delicious. Burgers massive. Beer not cold enough though for my liking. Very reasonable too for the amount of food they serve. Our server was great. No issues as all.

Our family 8 of us came to Gords for two birthday celebrations. Upon arriving the waitress greeted us with a smile and offered us something to drink, while my husband was thinking i asked for a glass of water. My husband ordered a pitcher of beer which she promptly came back with...neglected my water. she left and came back a couple more times i again asked for a glass of water which now has taken more than 15 to get to me. We ordered a couple apps as we were waiting for 4 more people to show up. i ordered the baked brie and was not like what described on the menu...it was not a honey butter walnut sauce and raspberry coulis..... it was maple syrup drowning everything on the plate to the point i picked up the bread it was dripping. And guess what no raspberry coulis.. Once they joined the waitress came back to take our food order. She forgot to take one persons order so we had to call her back to place the order. Never came to to do a food quality check on any of the apps. We ran out of room on the table so moved the dirty dishes to the table behind us cause the waitress was way to busy with her other 3 tables to clear plates as she continually walked by. I guess the 4 tables she had were too much to handle to take care of us properly. Food came out and i have never been more disappointed in a meal where we paid $92 for. I ordered the citrus cream chicken, it looked awesome on the menu ....presentation was nice, however the chicken was two dried out pieces of leather i could barely cut through, the citrus cream sauce had no citrus flavor and was bland that even salt and pepper couldn't make it better. My husbands burger was so over cooked it was like a hockey puck, bacon was burnt to a crisp and almost broke his teeth, the bun was so dried out it was like our food sat under the heat lamp for an extended period of time. Again waitress did not come and check on us until we were done our meal.Was super quick to bring the bills of course!!Against my better judgment i did not want to leave the undeserved tip. The place has definitely gone downhill since they first re opened which i remember service and food quality was awesome. Not happy to spend that kind of money on a poorly cooked meal and horrible service.

We found this place on Google as we were in the area. The place is huge and so is the patio. My wife had the steak with fries and veggies and I had the meatloaf with garlic mashed and veggies. Both were excellent and the veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly. Lots of specials through the week, although the regular prices are very decent. The drink menu is very good too. The service was great and we didn't wait long, but it was not very busy as it was Monday afternoon. We will be back for sure as there was a lot on the menu that I want to try.

Came here with a group of friends for drinks and lunch and I will never go back. As soon as we showed up the waitress was rude and didn't seem like she wanted to be there. We received our meals and asked twice for fork and knives, but it took her 20 mins to bring them to out us while we sat with our food in front of us unable to eat it. (There were only three other groups in the entire restaurant!) As soon as we asked for our bills it took her another 20 minutes to bring that out to us, so instead of waiting again we walked inside to pay and she was standing around the bar mingling with the other server! Waste of time and never going back.

Went here with friends and our kids on Wednesday.. kids eat free!! Every mothers dream!!! The macaroni and cheese was to DIE FOR I will have to drive all the way back just to taste it again!!Burgers were great as was the chicken burger!! Service was super friendly and the price was super cheap!! I totally recommend Gords!! Can't wait to come back some day!!
