The lobby was locked, with a sign on the door stating it was open for pickup orders. My app indicated that my order was ready at 6:59 PM, and I saw an employee placing an order on the pickup rack. They looked me in the eye while I was standing outside but then turned around and went to do something else. After knocking on the door several times for five minutes, another employee came to the counter and gestured toward the side of the building. I thought there might be another entrance, but it turned out there was only the drive-thru window, which had several cars waiting in line. I returned to the front door and knocked again. This time, the same employee who had gestured before came back and unlocked the door. I later learned he was the manager. He told me I had to join the drive-thru line and wait at the pickup window. I explained that my semi-truck was parked at the hotel across the street and I couldn’t drive through. He insisted I just stand in line with the cars. I pointed out the order on the rack that appeared to be mine, but he ignored me and locked the door. With no other food options available and having already paid for my order through the app, I reluctantly joined the line of vehicles for the drive-thru. I finally received my order at 7:35 PM, only to find it was cold, soggy (not crispy), and included a regular Pepsi instead of the diet one I ordered. I have always enjoyed KFC, but after this experience, I likely won't return, and I've deleted the app. As a professional driver who often eats out, I will be sharing my experience with others in the industry. Your organization should be deeply embarrassed by this performance.
The food was outstanding, and the service was flawless. The meals arrived quickly, and the staff were extremely friendly.
