Exactly as advertised, a casual HK style eatery. Great menu, including a version of pillow toast and HK style tea/coffee. I loved it. Better than Bake N' Cakes ever was. View all feedback.
What Hungry S doesn't like about Cafe De Tropika:
Came here tonight and had dinner with my family. The food was ok and not very hot. The service was ok. We ordered curry with rice, I think my mom makes better curry than here. We ordered Hainam chicken and it was ok. View all feedback.
This is probably my favourite place to get some HK food. Their interior is modern and inviting, compared to other places. Staff are friendly, service is quick and the food is always good! My family and I have been coming since they opened and everything remains consistent.
This is possibly my favourite HK restaurant in Edmonton. I have been here a few times and it doesn't disappoint. The quality of the food and service is consistent. I really have no complaints and I just hope that they open up a location in the north side sometime in the future!
Love eating here while in the south. The dishes are cheap, tasty and Come out very fast! Love their spicy fired tofu and curry beef brisket to name a few. But honestly have never had a bad meal. Service is friendly and fairly good. Sometimes they use tablets to take orders but seems to take...
We went here as our family wanted to try it out and let me say it is actually one of the worst restaurants we had fried rice which was still raw as the rice was still hard or could be old. The wonton noodles soup was worst then costco wonton frozen soup. You should try it and rate it yourself and see if im right. Your waste of money.
Ended up having a Jewish Christmas with the BF today, what better day to go for Chinese food right? I 've heard a lot about this Hong Kong Chinese food joint and boy have I been missing out. First of all, I didn 't come in with high expectations; since reading reviews from here and from word of mouth through friends. It is also Christmas so I was expecting to get little to no service. But as soon as we walked in through the door we were immediately greeted and seated. Very warm and welcoming staff! The restaurant was basically full with maybe three tables left empty, and though with the amount of people our orders were quick to get to us and the servers were always close by when needed. Mentioning about service though, if you frequent ANY Chinese restaurants you 're not going to get servers to come to you to ask how things are unless you know them already or you frequent them enough so that the servers know you. We ordered salted fish eggplant, assorted seafood lo mien and a half order of the BBQ duck no complaints. Salted fish was perfectly seasoned and mixing it with the white rice is legit comfort food. The noodles were honestly my favorite, the noodles were so soft mixed with the sauce and the veggies... STRAIGHT YUM. Then there was the duck, skin was crispy and the half order was a really good size, they don 't cheap out which is great. All in all. I definitely found my new Chinese diner fav. Will be back for sure! In eyeing the Chinese donut wrapped in rice noodle.
