Contribute FeedbackBishops Cave offers a unique dining experience with a selection of cheese, meats, antipasto, and wine. The reviews are mixed, with some praising the quality of the food and wine, while others were disappointed with the service. Despite some issues with staff and customer service, the atmosphere is described as lovely and the knowledge of the staff is commendable. The restaurant is a hidden gem, offering a wide variety of cheeses and wines. Prices are on the higher side, but the overall experience is well worth it. Overall, Bishops Cave is a popular spot for cheese and wine lovers in St Albans.
What a little gem ! Very pleasant evening with my daughter. Relaxed cosy atmosphere. Good choice of wine and cheeses, friendly staff, very professional team. Would like to try the scotch eggs next time…, looked amazing, from the local butcher, another plus supporting the locals. Certainly be returning with friends. Must book a table, seems very popular.
Very disappointed today… we’re regulars here and usually love our visits, however today I’ve never seen such a measly offering. We had our usual mixed board and the chorizo and salami was sliced so thin it was practically transparent, and the cheese was chopped up into small pieces, not slices. We had crackers left over which has never happened before, as we usually have to ask for me.
What a fabulous wine cheese bar! As a St Albans newbie from London, I loved this place. Very chilled and reasonably priced with cool music from the past. U2, Tina Turner and more. Loved it!
We have spent a few lovely evenings enjoying the atmosphere in this very different place. Casual but smart, relaxed geeling about the place, the beers and wines are first rate. The selection of cheeses is great accompanied by charcuterie and snacks. We will be back.
I love this place and have visited many times before. I always receive excellent service along with fantastic choice of wine and cheese. The staff are so knowledgeable on my last visit I was looked after by the lovely Alicia. Special mention to Paul whose expertise has kept us coming back time after time.
