I miss having a Simmons bakery so was pleased to visit St Albans to enjoy a beautiful Brie and tomato croissant and a cup of tea! I also managed to get a too good to go bag on another occasion with beautiful produce in there, staff were very friendly and polite and it was also very clean. View all feedback.
What Silverfoxmentor doesn't like about Simmons Bakers:
The cakes and savouries are usually great and were fine today. Service could have been better, and I could have been better, left my loyalty card with them and they did not n otice and I have to say a scone without butter is just a tad too dry. View all feedback.
A small pastry shop with a good selection of various pastries, cookies, and cakes. Pay attention to the original RAINBOW CAKE. The beginning of this family business was laid in 1838 by Eliza Simmons in the village of Roa Green, near Hatfield. Now there are 35 Simmons pastry shops open in Hertfordshire.
While visiting the market in St Albans, it was essential to stop by Simmons and indulge in one of their delectable cherry and almond slices. I ordered my slice and the lovely lady brought me my coffee as I sat outside, enjoying the hustle and bustle of the passing traffic. Though it may not be the most budget-friendly option, the amazing taste and freshness of the cherry slice, paired with the excellent coffee, easily earns this place a 5-star rating.
We have dined at Simmons Bakeries in various locations throughout the country and we have always been satisfied. On our latest visit, we were pleased to discover that they were offering the most mouthwatering cherry and almond slices. We decided to indulge in two slices along with two coffees so we could enjoy them outside while soaking up the sunshine and watching the world go by. The coffee paired perfectly with the cakes, making for a delightful experience. I also noticed that they have become more environmentally friendly by providing wooden forks for us to enjoy our treats with. Of course, the service was outstanding as always.
Went in today and my visit lasted 20 seconds! Such a shame as I have been going there for years but today I had my parents small dog with me, and before I could open my mouth I was told by the lady behind the counter that dogs are not allowed and to please leave. Quite curtly too. Was a bit upsetting as she is small and well behaved. I wanted to get some sandwich platters made up and selection of cakes for a Christmas party tonight. Due to what happened I ended up in Costco which I think is a terrible shame as I would rather support a small business. May be a good idea to review your dog policy. Almost all owners in St Albans are very respectful with their dogs and we are an ever growing community. Thanks for listening.
Ordered a jacket potato with tuna mayo. Potato was served cold and was very small with only a tablespoons worth of filling. Had to request some dressing for the dry salad but wasn't offered any sachets/bottles. The server had to take my food away to add a dollop of mayo. Not worth a fiver let alone the £7 it cost. Total rip off. Much better service and portions (properly heated) at Molen's down the road which was closed otherwise I'd have gone there instead. Never again! Very disappointing experience.
