What Chelsea Ross doesn't like about Cross Keys:
Been going to this pub for many years (at least but over the past year or so it's become a less pleasant experience. Dirty glasses, indifferent and slow service from regularly changing bar staff, the small bar area blocked by the same faces (who...won't move and you have to order around/over them) and recently even the ever reliable pint of Landlord by Timothy Taylor was lack lustre. It's not always like this and eff... View all feedback. What SC19672015 likes about Cross Keys:
We visited on a wet Saturday , when required to still be outside . The landlady could not have been more helpful in finding us a table with shelter and ensuring that we were dry and could enjoy our afternoon . Excellent table service in Covid safe way , without it impacting at all on the great atmosphere , fantastic garden and brilliant personal service from the owner gong the extra mile for us .This was always a fav... read moreThe Cross Keys in Harpenden has been a staple in the community for years, but recent reviews indicate a decline in quality. While some patrons appreciate the traditional English vibe, cozy atmosphere, and friendly staff, others have noted issues like dirty glasses, lackluster maintenance, and slow service. The pub's charm and large garden still attract visitors looking for a quiet spot away from the town center. Despite mixed reviews, the Cross Keys remains a local favorite for good ale and a welcoming ambiance.
Really nice place to visit and have some drinks. the team was good to look for us. will be back soon.

It's a great traditional pub, with good bar staff, behind the tiniest bar!
