New to St John’s from Calgary. Tried a few other Chinese restaurants and was very disappointed. We live close by to the City Light. This is our 3rd order and honestly in my family’s opinion —-one of the best Chinese food we have ever ate! Great work guys. Good prices. You can taste their quality in the food. You have new customers for life. Keep it up. Support this place folks. You will not be disappointed. The Burke... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about City Light:
bland food is missing from the choice for a buffet. overpriced for what they have. dreck looked dirty, and for the hour I hadn't brought out any fresh food. the staff seemed to be attentive, but the place was empty. View all feedback.
What a jewel. 5* Quality Food and Service. Decor inside is so luxurious and the food tastes incredible. Staff so friendly and the place is amazingly decorated.
Options are numerous and varied in buffet. The food I chose was well prepared and delicious. Not only the regular Chinese dishes. A number of different choices for Dessert also.
Didn't have the buffet as they charge $15 even for a 3 years old. But her waitress mentioned that it's not worth children before you decide that this is quite considerate. We order items. The pad-thai is terrible, but everything else is decent.
Eating has been hit or miss. Some things like the noodles were not great and the baked potato was not good either. Other things like the wings, rice, broccoli and general Tso chicken was pretty good. Nothing unusual. Ice was good, central dairy. The staff was provisional, but it was totally dead so it was somehow expected. Now the price, pretty ridiculous when you ask me. $30 per person is a bit out there for what it is, but I guess that's what Kovid did in this place. If you want to try, go. I was stoned to love it. Some of the foods were not ready, but what do you expect, this place is dead.
There was a very loud customer there taking all the wontons from the soup, leaving only one broth. He would fish out thr wontons and then pour any broth that got to his bowl BACK into the pot of soup and they did nothing about it. The food was decent. The salt and pepper chicken wings are worth going here again for.
