Where ever I go in the world I try the fish and chips. They are all graded on the Wigan Pier scale. In Vancouver, Go Fish is about an 8 on the WP scale. Mrs. Chong 's chippy in Bolton is about an 8 1/2. On my way back from Whistler today I had halibut and chips there. Amazingly enough, I scored the meal a good 12 on the WP scale.!! What William C doesn't like about Wigan Pier:
I visited the restaurant to check it out, and everyone was friendly. When I returned to place an order, I found that the asking price was significantly higher than the prices listed on the menu. Hope they can reopen soon Good fish. Friendly staff. Fire caused extensive damage and being torn down. Hope they can reopen soon.
Delicious and as promised by Warren owner of Tantalus View Retreat, not greasy. We would have preferred to dine in but that was not an option. Fish and Chips is always best eaten immediately! However, it was still very good and the lovely Irish gal at the front counter was a doll.

This was our first time at the restaurant and my husband was thrilled to find some northern food from his hometown. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant was busy but not too crowded. The pies were homemade and delicious. It's a bit out of the way from Vancouver, but worth the stop on the way to Whistler. Definitely a must-try.

It is disappointing when a business advertises a price on a sign but does not honor it. We may have missed out on a potentially good meal, but they also missed out on a paying customer and a negative review.
