The vegan menu looks like the regular one! It was nice to have so many choices. The vegan cheese they use is very good. The Vegan California Melt was delicious. I plan to eat there every time I go to Springfield. 5 stars. View all feedback.
What Giulietta Marini doesn't like about The Grotto:
No longer serving vegan pizza. This used to be where groups of friends would go so all types of diets could have multiple choices. Elimination of vegan pizza makes eating here on same par as eating just about anywhere else View all feedback.
They love their grotte burger with the vegan patty and they will honor the food restrictions and modify dishes. they are reasonable. it is fast and convenient in the city. a problem I have is when they are busy, they will not take big parties. often their drinks are on the flat side. they are good for both in and out
The impossible burger with vegan cheese was very good. Limited vegan options, more than a previous visit a few years ago.
While the vegetarian tacos had a good taste, the tofu was very dry. I didn't get the queso fresco because I didn't eat a cheese. we ordered our food to go them were prompt and the order was completed.
There are not many places that even have options here, especially when it comes to American eating, so this tends to my go-to with omni friends. they are the only place in the city with the impossible burger at the moment, and also have a few vegan bowls, tofu tacos, a portabello burger and a vegetarian hippie burger (it has eiergelb)
I used to get their Hippie Burger, but they've since changed the patty and it now has egg whites. Since they order these from a vendor and don't make them from scratch, there's no way to veganize it. I'm so sad about this, because the Grotto was my favorite restaurant in town before I was vegan, and after for a short time.
