Pappy's Place - Springfield

I always have a good time at Pappy's, oldest restaurant in Springfield! Good beer there and good people.

Backyard bash sort of feel. Very midwest. Very hole in the wall! Excellent service. Ps the open mic is outside so don't be upset when there's no A/C. Its worth it :

I had the best fried fish I've had in a long time. Homemade mashed potatoes and gravy with green beans. And they have broasted chicken! I'd never had broasted chicken before and now. So now I'm a fan. Thanks for the great food.

I ordered ahead and went to pick it up on a Sat around 5pm. I gave them 30 min to prepare. It wasn't ready, very poor communication between workers, no potato salad, the coleslaw had no flavor, the pulled pork was old and greenish and I say himwarm it up in the microwave. We had to ask for BBQ sauce and bread (2 slices) and we also ordered a pint of beef. The total fora pint of 2 meats, beans and slaw was $48 and it was the worst food I've ever gotten. I think they specialize in their liquorbecause obviously they aren't keeping up their reputation on their food. Go somewhere else for GOOD BBQ
