What DebbieB doesn't like about Mockingbird Restaurant:
We were disappointed . The house is interesting but was not well heated and it was a chilly evening. The food, while very tasty, was served lukewarm. They were out of rice, lobster and lamb and this was on a Wednesday night. View all feedback.
Very juicy ambience and friendly waiting staff. The hostess of the reception was not excessively warm or friendly. The food tasted good, but what was lost a star in the evaluation was the chicken overcooked and dry, and the topped Greens diving appetizer was hot served not hot, although warned not to touch the back dish because it was hot. Overall, it was good, but nothing special to add it to the frequent rotation list, but keep it on the occasional list
I often came here before it changed the owners and the quality had so poor at the end it was clear that the previous owner had left the place. I was told they had no manager for years! We went back last night to give new owners an attempt and WOW! My husband Hamburger had cut hand frits and house made milk bread rolls.... Everything on his plate of scratches and fresh also! I have the lobster baker who was delicious. The seasonal cocktails were very good and they now have a much better choice of alcohol. Service was a little slow pace, but we enjoyed the company and I understand that they recently lost a bartender so that the staff is short. This is NOT fine food, but more from an elevated casual restaurant with a fantastic ambience. Come on! Well done to the new owners!!
The crispy brussel sprouts stole the show! Quite delicious. The cocktails were tasty, and our meals (beef medallions and the pork chop) were both good, but the brussels were really the highlight of the evening. My only complaint was that the caesar salad was absolutely drenched in dressing. The dressing was good, but there was just far too much if it. If the salad had half the dressing, or twice as much romaine, it would have been great!
Beautiful local restaurant for a nice night to celebrate or just enjoy good food with your favorite people. This is a must while in Spring Hill! You have a fabulous selection of classics with a fun spin. Daily cooking specialities - delicious! A great bar with a good cocktail menu and fabulous bartenders. The dessert menu has mouthwater options and the mood is cozy and beautiful. They also offer coke products and Dr. Pepper from the well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was so delicious! And I'm an atmosphere man in restaurants, the Mockingbird has a good atmosphere and people you feel like at home when you go in the door. You have several great seating areas with space for groups of all sizes - large family or a whole dinner alone.
Excellent food! Beautiful farmhouse atmosphere. Food Presentation and Taste on Point
