Excellent food at great prices. Huge portions, had the fried mushrooms and roasted pimples, both delicious with ranch. Then I had a BLT, it was so good and had a monstrous amount of bacon on it. And her peach tea is a 10 out of 10 together with her great service.
I had the chicken fried brisket and the chicken fried chicken, and both were delicious. The food was excellent, and the presentation was impressive. However, the portion sizes were a bit small, especially when it came to the potatoes. The service was also somewhat slow and lacked attentiveness, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5.
Still, since I was stuck at my wife's branch, Angie's Gardens, I decided to make the best of it and dig in. To my surprise, I was completely wrong! Despite the initial presentation, the food was absolutely fantastic! The broccoli was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the peppers were juicy and flavorful, and the potato turned out to be quite delicious once I added some salt and pepper from the little condiment pack, as well as butter, sour cream, and cheese. I didn’t get around to trying the apples because I was already full from the main dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I will definitely order delivery again. I can’t wait to visit in person!
This was an absolute waste of money. I ordered the chicken tender plate for $20.40 and received just four tiny pieces of chicken that barely qualify as tenders. You can find larger and better tenders at Buffalo Wild Wings or Wingstop for a lower price. The portion size does not justify the cost. The peach cobbler almost broke my tooth when I bit into the crust. There was only one small piece of peach with a drizzle of syrup—this is not peach cobbler; it’s more like a peach pie. (Pro tip for the cobbler: break up the crust, don’t bake it as long, and add more peaches.) The shrimp and fish combo was disappointing; the fish had no flavor at all, and the crust fell off as I picked it up. The flavor that was supposed to be there ended up absorbed by the crust (maybe try an egg and butter wash next time to help it stick). The French fries were soggy, and the shrimp was overcooked to the point of being chewy like rocks. The small amount of tartar sauce made it slightly tolerable, but I suspect they rushed and overcooked it. The mac and cheese servings were as small as a toddler’s fist. It tasted like a mix of Kraft Mac and cheese and Velveeta, leaving a soapy aftertaste; thankfully, just a couple spoonfuls finished it off. I chose this place because of the high recommendations, but I was very disappointed. The portion sizes do not match the prices, and the food was lacking in flavor. I would give it one star because I can’t give half stars. I’m willing to try again, but the prices and portion sizes need to improve first.
Cotton Patch Cafe offers fantastic food at affordable prices. The portions are generous; I enjoyed the fried mushrooms and fried pickles, both of which were delicious with ranch dressing. I also had a BLT that was excellent, piled high with bacon. Their peach tea deserves a perfect 10 out of 10, along with their outstanding service. Definitely check out their menu!
