Description

A neighborhood seafood spot serving Cajun staples—crawfish, gumbo, jambalaya, etouffée—and generous portions at reasonable prices. TVs, beer selection and daily drink and seafood specials create a cozy, sports-bar atmosphere popular with families, regulars and groups. Service is usually quick and friendly, though guests report occasional slow greetings and a strict reserved-seating policy. Most dishes are flavorful, but some seafood has been inconsistently cleaned or slightly overcooked and sides (corn, potatoes, sausage) often cost extra.

My husband and I have visited this establishment twice. The second time we visited on the evening of 10/27/2023, the young inexperienced hostess told us that we would have to sit at the bar. She said she was unable to sit two customers at a table top with 4 or 6 chairs. Interestingly, the place was packed with only two large tables available for seating. The hostess had zero personalty, dressed satanic, and she was hinged-up with piercings like she had just stepped off the stage from playing at a live rock roll concert. I asked if she could locate a table for us and she said you’ll have to sit at the bar. Whoaa….very unprofessional! The food was just sub par! My hubby had a philly cheese steak sandwich and I had six bourbon boneless chicken wings. Our first visit admittedly was more service oriented and we had an attentive waitress. The attitude at this establishment was more concerned about serving the regular drinkers and discussing attendance with partygoers after hours versus servicing their customers. It is probably not a healthy environment for thriving well mannered children.

Really nice place for Cajun seafood. They have a really big menu and what I liked is that they serve breakfast until 2 pm. I had the shrimp po boy and it was really good, they cooked the shrimp blackened and then they soak them in a creole creamy sauce. They only had to servers and and of them also took charge of the bar, so the service seemed slow but both of them worked fast and very nice.

Awesome Cajun food. Or at least as close as you can get in Houston.

Husband I popped in for Saturday lunch date. Restaurant was about 50% full and every guest looked like they were enjoying their visit. Our server was EXCELLENT! Sorry I didn 't catch her name Ordered a cup of chicken sausage gunbo, it was ok. Taste was heavily "roux-y, and needed more flavor. Also had crawfish etoufee which was good, more tomato taste than I 'm used to, but still good. Crab cakes were a miss for me, husband said they were ok. Husband raved that the shrimp po boy was excellent!! The onion rings were perfect in our opinion. Overall, we 'd visit again!
