I went for lunch and was welcomed by very friendly staff. I ordered the barbacoa mac and cheese skillet, and it is the best mac and cheese I've had in a long time! The price was very reasonable too. I will definitely be returning!
This was my first experience with La Cabana. We ordered takeout on Sunday Eve. Initially, we were looking for delivery, but we were concerned it would take a substantial amount of time for the food to be delivered. When my friend called to put in the order, the person who answered was in a neighboring town (possibly on a delivery). The worker seemed flustered and very busy, mentioning that if we had a large order or weren't sure what we wanted, we would possibly need a call back. I fully understand this and sympathize. However, as a first-time orderer, we had an extremely difficult time finding a menu online to even order from. Because of this, it took us several minutes to place an order for 6 people (5 meals/ OR appetizers). There were some specials listed on a Facebook web page, but not a full menu. We requested some things that had shown up online that may have been discontinued or out of season. I thought I ordered 2 orders of churros, but we later discovered they weren't added to the bill. My friend was also missing some sauces that she had requested.Though it was confusing and a bit flustering in the ordering experience, we picked up our meal in a half hour packaged neatly waiting for us at a counter. It was about $60 for the five meals that were all proportioned well.Everyone liked the taste of their food, a mix of Mexican-American dishes, and Italian American food. The young children enjoyed the Burbon Boneless wings appetizer, comparing it to General Tso's- in terms of texture, heat, and flavor. My chimichanga tasted great, but was stuck to the styrofoam box. Maybe poke holes in the box for steam?I'd recommend dining in if possible, or ordering when less busy. Overall, though, we still had a good experience! I'd recommend the chicken Alfredo or a calzone.
