Reviews - Rusty Moose
Reviews summary
The Rusty Moose offers a captivating atmosphere and welcoming staff, but experiences can vary significantly. While some guests rave about the attentive service, delightful garlic bread, and unique dishes like lobster salmon bisque, others lament long wait times and inattentive service. Patrons have noted that the menu, though diverse, may not always deliver flavorful dishes proportional to its prices. Despite a few hiccups, many find the overall experience enjoyable enough to return, making it a notable option for those willing to navigate its inconsistencies while seeking a meal in a charming setting.

The billing policy of 1 bill for small is not convenient. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
I really like the set up, but I've been 0-2 with the food. My last visit, I got the fish and chips, it was over cooked and extremely greasy. Service was excellent though, 5 stars for service. I'll continue to go back and try other menu items just to see if they can redeem themselves. Ok, I'm a sucker. This recent visit, and probably my last, was terrible. If other tables are being served hot food when they arrived later than myself, who ordered a cold sandwich and a salad, THERE'S A PROBLEM! Get your service together folks!!

Only thing not up to standard, was the service. A little too long with no check in from waitress, who was very nice. I have a hard time blaming her, when there is a sign on the counter asking for “patience, as staffing levels are not current”. Nobody’s fault but Management. Did not see a single Manager step in to help the staff. Shame on Management and Owners.
The Rusty Moose was our first time dining there and we were very impressed with the whole experience. The food was prepared in a timely manner and it was delicious. The service was excellent and the decor was interesting and fun. This Restaurant has become a favorite and there are so many selections on the menu, we will be back to try them all.
Used the Rusty Moose on numerous date night occasions prior to seeing concerts at the local venues nearby. Service is good, food is good, and using Open Table in advance really helps as it can get pretty crazy before concerts and not having to get on a waiting list. Will continue to use when in the area.

Joe was a fast, friendly, and accommodating server. 5 stars for him. The cod I had was heavily coated in breading and was overcooked. I ate one, took the rest home, and probably won 't finish it. Joe asked my husband how he 'd like his wagyu burger cooked. He asked for medium, it arrived well done in cold buns. Our kid 's cheeseburger was a 3x3 pattie in a large (also cold) bun. The meat was so overcooked it had a skirt of charred black Fortunately, my kid isn 't very picky, and my husband doesn 't like to complain. The fries, drinks, and sauces were the best part of our meal. This was our second visit, and we don 't plan to come back to eat, simply because the food hasn 't been worth the price. I hope in the future this is remedied as there are so few places in Airway for a sit-down meal with the same vibe.
Good was great Service quick Country appeal Great times with workers Will recommend this place for nice evening
This is amazing atmosphere and food. It's like a mountain restaurant lodge married fine-dining. We loved everything we ate. Wedge salad, ribs in huckleberry sauce, onion rings (best I've ever had and the sauces were on-point. We are coming back when we come to Spokane again.
Food was good, but not outstanding. Surprised to see a 'Service Charge ' of 1.9% on our bill. Asked what it was and told it is not a tip, large group charge, or credit card fee but rather a charge added by the restaurant to not have to increase prices! What a gimic! They 've lost our business. Very poor business decision. It 's not the amount, it 's the trickery. See ya (never again) Rusty Moose!
The food was just perfect! Ordered the 16oz Ribeye and it was cooked to perfection! I couldn't have asked for a better piece of meat! Snapped peas and a very creamy mash!! And yes our server was great!!! We were a party of five here in the area for work! Three of us ordered the ribeye and let me tell you soooo delish!! If you are in the area, you have to stop in and try it out!! Oh yes ordered a dirty dirty martini Greg goose vodka -wow a perfect mix!

We live nearby and it has become a regular habit for us to visit this restaurant for the great beer and incredible meals. The service is exceptional, with the owner being particularly awesome and friendly. On my husband's birthday, the owner went out of his way to make it a special experience. The restaurant is very clean and we love the decor. This place is definitely the top spot in town and the only place we dine at. They truly rock.
This place is amazing! Visiting from Houston, we absolutely loved it! The food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. A must-visit. The elk burger was incredibly delicious.
For dinner, we enjoyed the prime rib French dip sandwich and the bison burger. Both were excellent. To top off the meal, we tried the orange cranberry bread pudding, which was absolutely wonderful.
I been there a few times and everything I’ve eaten has been delicious! And there staff are always friendly.

I have always had a great experience at Rusty Moose, fast service, and consistently good burgers! I find this to be a great stop to or from the airport!
I was presently surprised at how yummy everything was. I took my grandfather who is a hunter and eats 90% wild game. He was pleased w the Elk steak even though it was a veraion of meatloaf. We all LOVED the huckleberry sauce!
I had another amazing visit to this restaurant. For lunch, it is definitely one of the top spots in the area. Joe made drinks that were perfectly tailored to my friends' preferences, and on the way home, everyone was raving about what a great choice it was. I am excited for my next visit so that I can try one of the chef's specials!
We have dined at the Rusty Moose on several occasions and have always loved the food and ambiance. We adore the carved wood and outdoor decorations. There's nothing better than sitting by the fire on a chilly day and unwinding in the dining room. As someone who is gluten-sensitive, I was happy to see that the chefs could accommodate my dietary needs by grilling the fish instead of battering it for fish and chips. It was delicious. My husband ordered the elk burger, which was also fantastic. The staff were attentive, friendly, and kept our drinks filled. We highly recommend the Rusty Moose.
The appetizers were delicious and the drink selection was fantastic. These were the best pretzel bites we have ever had. The bar staff was extremely friendly and provided excellent service. We also appreciated being able to have a conversation in a party of 5 without any issues.

One of the best culinary experiences I had in a long time. The staff was incredibly friendly and let us change seats because some of the tables are directly under the air conditioning. The garlic bread, as was probably mentioned, is absolutely heavenly, with crispy crust and a kissy middle. The fish tacos were also incredible, with an ingenious sauce, and the lobster salmon bisque was anyway different than a bit expensive, this place is great.
We (Party of 2 had to wait about 10 minutes to sit for lunch. Booths have beautiful, locally produced wooden table tops. There was a lunch menu with about 5 cheap choices, but we ordered dinner, along with an order of garlic bread - a crusty, buttery, cut round bread. Ochsenschwein was delicious! Note that my duck came without a side. (There is a fee of $5.50 to add a salad. Very recommended restaurant for carnivores.
This is AMAZING SERVICE WITH A SMILE. I absolutely love this place. It's a very gamey menu lol. Everything is delicious. You literally get what you pay for in this case. The decorations were awesome. This was my first time in Spokane and should I ever come back I'll make sure to stop again.
We made reservations for 7pm on a Monday night and sat right down. We had great service with water refills, order taken quickly and the food arrived not too long after. As a family we all tried, mango fish tacos, the elk burger, a steak, and a Santa Fe chicken salad. Our food was good, it was a little more money than we would like to spend, but it was a great atmosphere and amazing service.
From the moment we walked in it was a fabulous experience. The decor and layout are exceptional and captivating. Dakota (our server) was pleasant, engaging and efficient. The selection on the menu was unique. I had an oxtail burger with pork belly and sweet potato fries. Probably the best burger I've ever had. All of the food served to our table was enjoyed. I will go back anytime I'm in Spokane.
