What Andrew dislikes about Black Straw:
I ordered the vegetable tofu. It was bland and unoriginal. It came with a side of rice, which was dry and crunchy as if eating sand in the desert. I tried to fix it with some soy sauce, but that didn 't help in the least. It also, came with some egg flower soup which had no egg and had so much starch in it, I might as well be eating a thin jell-o. Really!? I mean, I wasn 't expecting anything other than cheap Chinese... View all feedback.
Came here with a group of ten and the restaurant had plenty of space to hold larger groups. There's several vegetarian and vegan options available. If you do want to make it vegan, make sure they omit the oyster sauce that is in some of their dishes. I had the Szechuan Tofu (minus the oyster sauce) and the group got the Crispy Spicy Tofu to share. The Crispy Spicy Tofu comes with sautéed tofu, onions, peppers with a side of chili sauce. The Szechuan was spicy saucy goodness with loads of veggies and tofu. I would get either dish again. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The restaurant itself was bright, spacious, and clean. The prices are reasonable, especially with the quantity and quality that is served. Everyone in our group was very satisfied and full after our visit. This place will definitely be in our rotation when going out. #Veganuary
They say it’s made of “coffee milk” idk what that is, but they say it’s definitely dairy-free every time I ask them so I am pretty sure it’s vegan.
If you have not been here yet you are missing out! They have boba with coconut milk and lots of vegan options. You can adjust the spice level and the tofu is great! The milk with coconut milk is super creamy and they can adjust sweetness level. The cashiers are really knowledgeable and are happy to answer questions and make substitutions. The ambiance is very nice and you can sit in a booth or at a table. The servings are large and you can order one for two people.

I mean, I wasn 't expecting anything other than cheap Chinese/American food, but do better. This was awful. I won 't be ordering again.
