Was Anonym at Nevera Tavern a mag?
A family member ate here last year and very recommended. Not disappointed. Made online reservation for 8 o'clock, sitting inside next to open window, which was great due to the warm evening. Jacob was fantastic host, recommended large wine pairing with the food. Octopus salad was amazing as the beef tenderloin. Even found room to make from home made cream caramel. All washed with home cognac who believe that I tasted... View all feedback.

The best secret in Split. We came to starve at 4:00 and Nevera gave us everything we believed and more! You have to try the truffle potatoes. I still dream of them. Also the pasta was amazing
On the table we have today an assortment of fresh ariatic bowls freshly caught from the Adriatic Sea, in which the city next to, and scampi or prawns, cooked in a delicious sauce made Dalmatian style. The sauce was super hearty and I would like to try to replicate it, but the ingredients list for the sauce was omitted from the menu, although garlic definitely played a large part in it. There is even a special Adriatic shellfish in which is unique to the region, and has a unique property not to open after cooking, but opens super easy only through the gap with a fork. It tastes almost like razor shells with a firmer and chewing texture. The shrimps were also amazingly huge with some of them that contained lots of roe and gave the already juicy meat many flavors. Combined with a glass of white wine, there is really nothing to complain about this food than being super happy that I found this hidden jem near the hotel.

What we did a few days later and had the black pot that was excellent.
Our hotel wasn't far from this place and having walked past a couple of times, especially in the evenings, and seeing the food being served we had to give it a try. There's lots of food choices which suit any budget, and you can choose from either menu, on each side of the card. The waiter we had was exceptional and waited until we had chosen our starters/mains before recommending wine to go with what had been ordered. His knowledge was excellent and knew all about the wine choice and how it has been produced. Food here was sublime! I ordered the bruschetta with shrimps and gorgonzola , followed by the Adriatic squid with a side of grilled vegetables. My partner ordered the bruschetta with mozzarella, followed by the fillet steak with prawns and shrimps, and a side serving of chips which were huge but utterly delicious! You can eat inside or outside of the restaurant, and don't let the fact that you're sat along a fairly busy road put you off, you barely notice it because of the experience of eating here. A little gem of a place situated away from the old town of Spilt, but well worth a visit.
