It's a small tapas place, but it has a cozy & romantic atmosphere and I love the tapas there. It can get fairly pricey if you love to eat (and I sure do! lol), but the variety is yummy and your garlic breath will melt peoples faces off after you're done. :D This is usual special occasion place for my wife and I when our son has a sitter. What User doesn't like about El Toro:
we were on 13.5.17 four in el toro. as always, the tapas were very good, big lob to the kitchen team, but the service was unfriendly and very hectic. how can it be that the service at full stube leaves the room apparently for calling or smoking and only after 15 min returns a weeping order unfriendly takes up and then the full bottle bangs into the cooler without having to catch up. I didn't know that locally. harry View all feedback.

We were four men and had pre-ordered and got a nice table in the cozy cellar vault of the El Toro. it was all to our satisfaction. Here's plain text:The service was exceptionally friendly and fixed. everyone had two beer and plenty to eat.We ordered the card up and down. our table was overcrowded twice by tapas bowls. brot gave it to the abwink. The food was great and has very well mouthed. At the end everyone paid around the 30 euro what seemed to us worth the price. (It's a bit different, but you're not going to be cut)
This is a very small restaurant (maybe 10 tables or so) in a cozy basement in the old town of Speyer. We spontaneously chose this restaurant for dinner as they offered live music on that night as well.Upon arrival the restaurant was very busy and we were largely ignored by the staff, so we looked for our table and waited about 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. As this didn't happen we went to the bar and asked for the menu. The waitress was very apologetic and handed us two menus. About 2 minutes later another waitress showed up with some tapas "on the house as an apology because we didn't serve you right away". In my book this gets extra brownie points !OK fast forward through the evening: The food was good, especially the bacon wrapped dates. The musician was fun and entertaining and the evening turned out really great. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone - but if you want a table, you better call beforehand and book one.
Friendly service, very fresh and very tasty prepared tapas - highly recommended if you like Spanish cuisine
