The George Jd Wetherspoon - Spelthorne

Not sure what people are complaining about in the reviews this is a pub, that serves food, not a restaurant, there are no 'waiters '! Honestly, great food, never had a bad dish, great staff George and Laney in particular been going here since it opened and have been to some dodgy Wetherspoons, but this isn 't one!!

Breakfast wraps bland, bacon overcooked and all our table orders came out at different times part of meal was forgotten so everything else went cold while we waited for it. Friendly staff and clean toilets also rather dusty bottles over the top shelf behind the bar

Visited this pub this evening and the service was one of the worst I have ever received. Young, brown haired girl on shift spoke to myself and my family horrendously, so rude and had the worst attitude. We were told we had to leave by 9 due to their license, although this has never been the case on any of our previous visits. Either make this clearer to your staff as there’s a huge lack of knowledge on this, or make it clearer before I give you my money. We were not told to politely leave, she told us ‘get out’ and stood at our table until we did so. Although, there was children still in the pub clearly under 18. Even a toddler running around. No one in my party was underage, but these literal CHILDREN were never told otherwise or kicked out when we were. I will never be returning to this pub and will do all I can to get word around about how awful this place is. Discrimination shown at its finest.

Or order for 4) consisted of 3 good dishes and one that was very poor . Thee Gourmet 8oz Sirloin steak was 30% gristle. It was a shame as the person who ordered it it was their birthday . Hopefully the kitchen noticed the gristle returning on the plate and made a note of it because it wasn't cheap compared to other items on the menu. £14.54).

The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the service was excellent. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all, and the prices were very reasonable. I will definitely be coming back! A special shoutout to the young woman working upstairs with multiple walkie talkies on her belt. She was kind, friendly, and cheerful - a delightful person!
