Visitors appreciate its nostalgic ambiance and extensive selection of ales. However, experiences vary; while some guests praise the hospitable staff and delicious food, others express disappointment over lackluster dishes and steep prices. The bustling atmosphere, particularly during Sunday lunch, leads to occasional shortages on the menu, and some patrons find the service less accommodating. Despite mixed reviews, this historic pub remains a beloved gathering spot, drawing both locals and those revisiting fond memories of their youth in this quaint South London enclave.
Love this place. Found out about it in summer when looking for a good beer garden and omg it won't disappoint. Since then I've been with my boyfriend, work mates, parents and they've literally got something for everyone. If you want a really good Sunday lunch this is the place to book! The guys who work here are so lovely and we always feel really well looked after
I recently went to this pub with some friends for food and drinks. The atmosphere was great, especially the lovely garden area. The service was also excellent!
Chef specials were phenomenal. My children, both particularly fussy eaters, devoured everything. Extensive wine selection featuring the wonderful E. Guigal, Côte-Rôtie certainly makes this somewhere we will consider for future special occasions.
I visited Dulwich after a long time. After walking the dogs in the nearby woods, I decided to take a stroll down memory lane. I have vivid memories of this pub from my youth and I was happy to find that it still retains the charm and character that I remember so fondly. After enjoying a couple of pints of Harvey's Best, I was delighted to see the large chestnut tree that I used to play around as a child. I want to thank the staff for being so kind and hospitable, indulging me as I rambled on about old times. You are all truly wonderful.
I had a fantastic day out at the restaurant. The staff were incredible and the fish and chips were some of the best I've had in a while. It was my first time back at the Crown in a few years and I absolutely loved it.
