not sure of the other reviews, but I had a great time here and had not expected that from a restaurant connected to a hotel. there is an outside sitting area that has a small inside courtyard, you can see a cinema and another bar that I think. the staff was all very friendly and helpful, there was a little waiting for a mix in the kitchen, but it was good. the appetizers were quite varied, I had a rabbit terrarine th... What LondonBK doesn't like about Gb Grill:
The staff at this restaurant were very welcoming and were able to arrange a last-minute reservation for my dinner. However, we were not told that they did not serve alcohol or allow BYOB. If I had known this beforehand, I would have chosen a different place for this occasion. It would be helpful if this unusual policy were made clear at the time of booking, especially for an evening meal in London. View all feedback.

Call me pedantic but I assumed somewhere called 'Grill and Bar ' would serve alcohol. I was surprised to find that having sat down and chosen our food, we were unable to order a glass of wine.
We were told before we booked that no alcohol would be served, which was fine as both of us were just looking to go out and enjoy a nice meal. The staff were lovely and the food was really great, but the restaurant was empty and had no atmosphere. We had starters of squid and poached eggs which were both very well cooked, followed by the steak and salmon again both were full of flavour. We visited on a Saturday night, and I can only imagine how much business is being affected by the owners decision to run this hotel by Sharia law. They need to aim it at health food, or clean eating customers, with mocktails etc on offer as a way to make it more interesting. Otherwise I can't see business improving very much.
I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. There was no nice glass of wine, the menu was mediocre, and the batter on the fish was horrible. Additionally, my wild mushroom penne had more button mushrooms than wild ones, as advertised. Overall, I will not be returning to this restaurant. I would rather spend my money elsewhere and enjoy a better dining experience.
Our group of four ordered a variety of dishes at this restaurant and we were all impressed with our meals. The homemade tagliatelle with tender rabbit, perfectly cooked steak, lamb, and fish (particularly the cod and chips) were all delicious. The prices were reasonable and the service was helpful and friendly. The desserts were just as fantastic as the main courses. The only thing to note is that the restaurant does not serve alcohol, but there are plenty of nearby spots in the Bermondsey area to enjoy a local beer. Overall, we highly recommend visiting this restaurant.
