Toby Carvery Southend - Southend-on-Sea

Lovely food and fantastic server called Jo. We visited at an exceptionally busy time, but we were looked after well and the experience was good thank you

The waitress Jo very accommodating and always with a smile. When I told her that I was not happy with the cut of meat (beef) she went to get me some turkey. The cut of meet had connective tissue very chewy. We are used to visiting Toby Carvery A bit everywhere that there is one but never experienced such a bad one in Southend. Apart from that was an experience never to forget as had excellent attention from Jo but the cut of meat has left a bitter taste in my throat.

Good food and staff, however the Yorkshire puddings were uncovered and not behind screen. Member of the public was able to poke at them . This was mentioned and the staff changed them for fresh , so well done to them. Otherwise everything was fine

Food not hot meat very fatty the chef wanted to give us very tough and stringy beef when I would not accept it the chef wasn't very happy

Waitresses are truly wonderful. We have had several negative experiences at the entrance desk at the entrance in the past which is a great shame. Once I had a party of 6 people walk out because we were ignored at the desk. That was a couple of years ago now. I was most disappointed as I know the food is excellent.
