The Exchange - Southend-on-Sea

Having dropped in a couple of times for a libation or two my other half and I decided to sample the fare on offer in this case the Sunday lunch offering. To describe it as an extremely pleasant surprise would be an understatement. Firstly, it was a substantially sized portion so much so that I struggled to finish, which given my gluttonous ways was remarkable. Secondly, the quality the beef I ordered couldn 't have been any better. Moist, tender, pink, and full of flavour it was a triumph. 'er indoors had the chicken which she largely enjoyed. She then found the space to indulge in a wee dessert after while bravely drank copious amounts of craft ale (where 's my Victoria Cross for bravery?, I ask you). The staff couldn 't have been more helpful, the ambience was just right luckily there was soccerball tournament encounters on the television while we were there. And the pub itself is always very clean. I give it five toes up!

We Sunday lunch here quite regularly, which just goes to show how great it is. Fabulous food, amazing staff that always make us feel so very welcome (especially Rebecca and Byron). Sorry about the picture, I’d already steamed in

The place had a lovely atmosphere and the food was very tasty! Angela's service was excellent, and we will recommend the place to family and friends.

Lovely meal, we have been before in December and as we are vegetarian had the same meal as the menu was the same and that was the only choice. It tasted lovely though. But we won’t go back.

Excellent food and wine, good atmosphere and dog friendly. We had a lovely time!! The owner served us (even though they don’t totally do table service at the dog friendly end of the bar) which was lovely. Mains and dessert Thank you
