We are visiting from Melbourne, Australia, and we were very impressed with the food, service, and ambiance at The 1850 House. We ordered the Roasted Veggie Wrap and the BBQ Chicken Sandwich, both of which were not only delicious but also offered great value. The historic homestead is situated on a golf course with a lovely view. To complement our lunch, we enjoyed a glass of Haymaker Sauvignon Blanc. Food rating: 4.

This time they were actually open, unlike my last visit when we arrived with a confirmed reservation only to find the place closed. The food was great and the service was excellent. I ordered a salad with steak, and to my surprise, it came with a full-size steak! The house salad with balsamic dressing was a generous portion and absolutely delicious. I recommend sitting on the back sun porch for a lovely view and a quieter atmosphere compared to the bar and main dining area.
