This family-friendly pub is exceptionally well-managed. The staff is consistently welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. The only downside is that the carvery sometimes falls short on fresh vegetables and sides. However, it's a fantastic restaurant with both indoor and outdoor playgrounds suitable for children of all ages. My family and I always enjoy our visits here. View all feedback.
What Rich Ann Fenn doesn't like about Walnut Tree Farm, Dining Carvery:
We had a family gathering and were not impressed. The main courses and curries were bland, and the carvery was served cold. The chicken burger with hummus was enjoyable, but the chips were cold, with a few still frozen. I had visited before some time ago and found that the carvery vegetables were dried out and the meats were also dry. One of the chairs was broken, so we moved it, but when I informed a staff member, she said she would tell the manager, only to put the chair back at the table we had removed it from. On a positive note, the staff behind the bar were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning.
This delightful carvery offers excellent food and fantastic staff. Price per person: £10–20. Food rating: 5/5, Service rating: 5/5, Atmosphere rating: 5/5. Recommended dish: Large Carvery. Parking: Ample free parking available.
I had an excellent experience at this restaurant! The service was prompt and the food was fantastic. The soft play area and mini arcade for kids are wonderful additions. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as 5 out of 5!

I usually visit early on a Sunday, and the food is quite good; I’ve never encountered issues with hard or overcooked vegetables like others have mentioned. However, the service and the variety of food can be inconsistent—sometimes it’s excellent, and other times it’s not. The kitchens typically aren’t ready until around 11:30 a.m. During my last visit, a gentleman ordered a large carvery to get more meat than the standard portion, but he received only one slice when the standard is two. It can be a bit awkward to ask for more. The gravy is thick and flavorful, and the dauphinoise potatoes are amazing when they have them. Since I just want a quick meal and don’t have to cook, I’m generally very happy with my experience.
