Incredibly quick service and good food at a reasonable price. Busy pre-theatre atmosphere but still serving at 10pm. Ideally placed for the Mayflower. We would certainly go again, possibly during the day. Recommended. View all feedback.
What Floramarj doesn't like about Tosca's Italiano:
I visited Tosca 's and Toomey daughter and f future daughter in law alas a special treat. None of us could eat this food drowned in salt. Complained to the waitress who said it the chefs fault, we sent back the plates only half eaten. We preordered coffees which we thought might be complimentary as a gesture of goodwill. When paying the bill the manager was not at all apologetic. £50 for a very unpleasant experience... View all feedback.
The restaurant has transitioned to a buffet style where pizzas and skewered meats are brought to your table. The buffet had a decent selection, but the skewered meat was dry and tough. The staff seemed more focused on promoting the pizzas rather than the meat dishes. The roasted pineapple was only offered once and it came while we were still eating our appetizers. Overall, we preferred the previous system with higher quality cooking, so we may not return.
We went to this restaurant for the first time before a show at the Mayflower and we absolutely loved it! The food was fantastic, with a variety of options at the all-you-can-eat buffet. The service was impeccable and friendly, serving a selection of delicious pizza and meats. They also had a great wine list. There was no waiting or hassle. We will definitely be back soon!
We have been to this restaurant many times for dinner before going to the theater. The food has always been great and Tony and his staff have always served us quickly and efficiently so we could make it to the theater on time. However, our most recent visit was quite different. They have changed to a buffet-style service where waiters come around with skewered meats and carve and serve as much as you want. The buffet had a good variety of hot and cold dishes. The waiter service was a bit inconsistent and the meat was not very hot. Overall, it was good value as you could eat as much as you like. Although the staff were friendly and the restaurant had been tastefully revamped, we preferred the old system.
Have always found this restaurant excellent. The proprieter, Tony, makes you feel very welcome. There is a good choice of food and very well presented.
I used to love coming to this restaurant, and looked forward to the delicious, authentic Italian food and the excellent service. However, since the revamp, the ambience has dramatically changed. It now feels more like a motorway cafe than a restaurant. Although the food is tasty, some of it is lukewarm. The service is still warm and friendly, but that does not compensate for the lower standard of dining. I would say to the owner, 'PLEASE change back again. You had a lovely restaurant but you 've spoiled it! ' I won 't be coming back if it remains self-service.
