Visited this restaurant in November pre theatre visit (Grease at the Mayflower). Lovely food, very helpful staff who could not do more for us. At the time I had with me young adults with severe learning disabilities and the staff were very attentive....Overall: lovely experience and will visit again View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Vestry Restaurant Bar:
My mums birthday that turned out to be a disappointing afternoon table was not the table i had asked for even though had requested this previously on the phone We waited ages on our meals and at the end of it having to complain because...of a rude blonde lady who was supposedly the manager ,clearly not doing her job with absolutely no people skills what so ever View all feedback.
The Vestry is a fantastic place to dine. We visited before seeing a show at the Mayflower and found the lighting to be dim and the atmosphere calm, making it perfect for a romantic meal. It's also great for children - I took two kids with me and they really enjoyed the fish fingers and burgers on the menu. Booking a table online was a breeze, and the staff were extremely helpful.
The restaurant was pleasant and the food was good, but the server's behavior in the kitchen was extremely rude. We waited over half an hour for our dessert only to be told that our order had been lost. This was disappointing and we do not plan on returning.
The restaurant has an excellent selection of gluten-free options, with a wide variety of desserts to choose from. I would definitely visit again if I am in the area.
A gorgeous venue is being wasted by incompetent staff. Hugely overpriced nearly £16 for one beer and one wine. The bartender tried to mix two different pinot rose wines with totally different labels in my glass and only didn't do so when I challenged her. We were ignored on several occasions at the bar I had to say excuse me twice to get attention when the manager ! and another bartender were doing things like fixing one of the two tills. I challenged the prices and the wine issue with the manager and was offered nothing by way of apology. DON'T GO unless you want to be treated poorly and rudely and also get ripped off by extortionate prices in the process.
Arrived for 11 45 table booking. Served by lovely staff got our drinks quickly and meal with 30 mins. However we asked for the sharing beef platter for2 for under £40. Food was cold not only meats but cold kale and other veg too. The platter content was really good and enough for 2 sharing. We had 2 sweets. Mine was 5 10 and my husband had stickt toffee pud( his favourite . It was about 3 inches square and cold and sauce was cold. The worst he'd ever had. He paid the bill and when we got into theatre checked the bill! We were charged £78 for the platter.! We went back after the show and questioned the bill. The manager showed us a P.P. in tiny letters which we missed. ! If it was a sharing platter then maybe the price they put on was very questionable!. There were complaints all around us on the other tables about the food being cold so it wasn't just our food. Such a shame and definitely won't be going there again until we see some excellent reviews regarding hot food and sensible prices.
