What User doesn't like about Maggio's Restaurant, Bar Ballroom:
I have visited this restaurant a few times and enjoy the food, but I was disappointed with the service during my last visit. Our server forgot to bring several items we had ordered, including butter, maple syrup, and meatballs for the children's spaghetti. I had specifically ordered the spaghetti for the children because it was supposed to come with meatballs, and I wouldn't have expected to have to ask for them sepa... View all feedback.
This popular Italian restaurant is located in South Hampton and features a large bar and ample seating. The ambiance is reminiscent of Cheesecake Factory, with an inviting color scheme and open space, though it can get a bit loud due to the open area. We arrived just in time for happy hour, where we enjoyed half price appetizers. Our choices included mussels with garlic sauce and a cup of clam chowder for starters, followed by chicken parmigiana with vodka sauce for our main course. Our server, Laura, was exceptional - she promptly brought our drinks and food, and even had the kitchen split our meal onto two plates. The mussels were impressively large and came with plenty of delicious sauce. The clam chowder was outstanding, rivaling those found in New England. While the chicken parmigiana was tender and lightly battered, the sauce could have used a bit more flavor. Overall, the only downsides were the noise level and the lack of flavor in the chicken parmigiana, but it was still a great dining experience.
Back to Maggio's for the first time since 2019. The menu has been reduced...which is good. It was too expansive before. Like everywhere, prices have increased. Service was quick and the food was good.
We recently held my son's First Communion Party at Maggio's and I can't praise the experience enough. Right from the beginning, Bette was wonderful and easy to communicate with. She always promptly answered my many questions and emails. On the day of the party, the room looked stunning and the food was outstanding. The waitstaff were very friendly and having Bette there was a great bonus. We will definitely return and recommend Maggio's to family and friends looking for a venue. Thank you for everything!
I don't usually go to this extreme, but we had to walk out last night. We sat down and waited 10 minutes just for a server to come and take our drink order, OK we can deal with that, and we asked if we could order our food and server said after he gets our drinks. Ok......Well 15 more minutes, and now we are at 25 minutes waiting, and still haven't ordered our food. We got up looked around and didn't see our server, so we started walking out. As we were walking out, right at front door, our server came out of bar bringing our drinks. Sorry, this is unacceptable. I know everyone is shorthanded these days and I can understand if it was busy, but it was 7:20 and not at all busy. A lot of empty tables.
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS mussels!! Great happy hour. I love the Mag!!!
