LUNCH REVIEW I didn't expect to have one of the best Italian sandwiches I've ever had when I walked into Carluccio's but that's exactly what I got. We chose this place because it was close to our B&B and we wanted to pick up sandwiches to take to the beach. I ordered the Calabria Combo, which comes piled high with Capicola, Pepperoni, Provolone, Roasted Peppers, Red Onion, Lettuce, Tomato, and Italian Dressing. The m... View all feedback.
What Mateusz Pietrzak doesn't like about Carluccio's Italian Specs:
THE PIZZA IS CONSISTENTLY AWFUL! If I wanted to eat 3 inches worth of awful brittle crust I would have ordered a toasted pita! I have tried different things on the menu over a few visits and there are no redeeming qualities for the food they serve. I?m kicking myself for picking up the latest pizzas for my kids. I visited the Forestdale location hoping to support a new restaurant in our area. I ordered a large pizza with two toppings and a small cheese pizza, which came to $35—a bit on the pricey side. Unfortunately, the toppings were sparse, and the crust was rock hard.
On August 23rd, we ordered pizza and cannoli for dinner. The food was decent and ready for the scheduled pick-up time. Prices were within the normal range. However, the woman who took our order over the phone and then checked on us when we arrived to pick it up was quite unfriendly, which would deter us from returning.
Forestdale Location... The chicken and the red sauce were delicious, and the portions were just right. The prices were competitive. Our server, Hannah, was attentive and very sweet. The owner personally visited each table, which was quite impressive! The atmosphere was welcoming and tasteful, with a bright and open layout. Overall, it was a great experience!
My friend had never tried a legit calzone. And so we ordered from Carluccio's, and while the dough of the calzone was absolutely dirty, there was no doll of Ricotta found anywhere in the cheese calzone. So that was easy to disappoint. But if her calzone tasted that good even without the ricotta, I think her pizza game is off-the-hook! The Cannoli are perfect! Smooth, creamy filling, crispy, fresh outer shell, and we got a choice whether we prefer chocolate chips on them, which was an additional bonus. My mother, who is more than me and who is an excellent baker, has dug the best Cannoli in Cape Cod.
We went in this past Friday night placed an order was told 10 minutes. It was 45 minutes at the end of the wait but the food was very worth it (hence the sign in photo). We had seen the reviews that the margarita pizza was white so we added sauce. They should note that on the menu because we would have been very disappointed and. It loved it as much. The calzone was absolutely amazing. Would definitely return.
