What User doesn't like about South West Rocks Surf Life Saving Club:
We came here because the reviews were pretty good. It was poor to mediocre and overall very disappointing. Won't be back. Meals were 4/10, service 4-10, decore 3/10. View all feedback.
The South West Rocks Surf Lifesaving Club in New South Wales offers a stunning beachfront view where you can watch dolphins surfing the waves. Enjoy delicious cocktails and a bowl of chips while taking in the picturesque scenery.
We decided to dine at this restaurant again after enjoying a fantastic meal here a year ago with their new Mediterranean menu. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to see that the same old boring menu had returned. The dishes were typical and nothing out of the ordinary, similar to what you could find at a pub or country club. While the options like curry, squid salad, burgers, and carved chicken were fine, the overall dining experience was just average.
I have been to SWRocks many times, but this was my first time dining at the surf club. I was pleasantly surprised. The menu was not extensive, but there was enough variety to choose from. The food and service were excellent. I will definitely be coming back.
We confess to being negative reviewers since the new chef HOWEVER we revisited because as locals we love the view and our surf club...this time GREAT menu and excellent food that did include plenty of seafood options to die for to match the view. Entree...calamari SO GOOD...super tender tasty crispy delicious, fish n chips best in town but as much as they were great nothing beat the octopus SPECTACULAR!! Meals were good value, did include salad and were faultlessly cooked and wonderful flavours. We were enjoying so much we did linger on the balcony long enough to make room for the best baclava ever experienced. Thankyou chef for listening to feedback and making our iconic surf club the best venue in town. We’ll be back regularly. Hooray!
Our family of six ate at the surf club twice during our recent holiday and we sampled most dishes on the menu. The food was delicious, very well presented and the views were spectacular. The staff were friendly and efficient. We’ve been coming to this...restaurant for many years and in our view this is the best food in SWR.
