On A Roll@waterman Beach Brewery

Excellent beer, tried 5 different types and they were all great. Awesome little spot right on the water

We have loved going to this place for a while, but recently have had some unpleasant interactions with one employee. Generally everyone there is lovely, and the beer is great and the view can’t be beat. Also, the pizza is fantastic when the truck is there. There is a man who works there the owner or the brewer? Not sure who I have seen referenced in other reviews. He’s not really a customer service oriented person, to say the least, so we try not to interact with him. But tonight, he was a total jerk to us. We brought a friend and his son who were visiting, and had a few rounds of beers while our kids 6, 9 and 10 years old played games with us and then played on the beach in front of the brewery. When we were leaving, our friend’s son went down to the beach to collect two buoys he had found about 100 yards down the beach from the brewery, as he wanted to take them home. He dragged them up across the parking lot and put them in the back of his dad’s truck. The bartender came running out and told us we couldn’t take them. We said “oh sorry, he found them on the beach so we didn’t realize they belonged here, where do you want us to put them?” At which point this man started yelling across the lot at us. So our friend walked over to him and apologized and explained that his son had found them on the beach. The guy accused his 10 year old son of stealing the buoys off the bar decor, and called our friend “cheap” ? . No amount of explaining would do it, he was unnecessarily aggressive, accusatory, and generally awful as we and the three little boys stood there. It was really unpleasant and just a totally uncalled for response to a misunderstanding with a kid. We left the buoys, of course, and left. And sadly, can’t say we’ll be back soon.

Fun place to stop by solid beer and nice setting. I only wonder if the male owner needs a tutorial on customer service?
