visited here with my mother and youth with a afternoon tea group voucher it was good for what I had paid, we had sandwiches and cakes with unlimited tee and coffee, I really enjoyed it beautiful and peacefully sat in the vicinity of the kitchen beautiful features where we were. I would go back with the voucher system, but I'm not sure I would pay the full price. when we arrived, there were some maintenance work, so i... View all feedback.
Old, damp room. One can accept thread bear furnishings and the general wear and tear. But a truly awful bed, all the springs had an gone. A better night would have been had sleeping in the car. I should have complained about the bed. If you do end up here ask to the bed and lie on it before parting cash. Sadly the floor isn't a retreat it is equally skanky. And come on one tea bag and towel for a double room
This was my second visit to the hotel. I chose it for its affordability. I was visiting a friend in Wolverhampton. The hotel has a lot of potential and I hope the owner will work on restoring its former glory.
Don't be taken in by the photos. We booked 2 superior rooms for 3 nights. Our room was a disgrace. One towel only, extractor did not work, toilet leaked, kettle without fuse, TV didn't work, no coat hangers or wardrobe, small double bed poked up against a wall. Quite uncomfortable. Everywhere was sticky and would not put my bare feet on the carpet. Spent time backwards and forwards to reception to pick up bits including toilet paper. Our rooms were not serviced after second night, so backwards and forwards to reception once again. One plus is the staff were friendly even though you could tell they were frustrated with the complaints.
The positive is our room was spotlessly clean with clean bedding and towels. Now for the rest. The reception staff were generally absent. We only met one when we checked in. There was no one actually attending the desk for the rest of the time we were there which was 2 nights. The restaurant was closed. No explanation why or when it would reopen. That meant no breakfast or evening meal. We had tea and coffee making facilities in our room. But the non existent reception staff made getting more tea, coffee, milk and sugar impossible. The room had been repainted but by someone who had chosen speed over accuracy. If you are a professional painter and decorator these room might give you a breakdown. The chest of drawers had also been painted apparently the painter chose to close the drawers before they were dry, leading to them being permanently stuck. Its a 2 star hotel and it shows but at least the cleaners were friendly. Perhaps the cleaners should apply for the receptionists role since they were at least visible.
My daughter arranged for us to stay one night here whilst we assisted her house move; apparently she’d read some reviews and had concerns. We though checked in “blind”, and my oh my, what a shock. With hindsight I can only echo much of previous reviews; as to our experience; in the car park you are pretty much advised your car will be broken in to for starters. The weird no ID no Check in thing No toilets The reception man couldn’t have been less interested when we checked in, and out 10 minutes later). I got the impression he knew we weren’t staying as he perused the keys behind the desk before finally selecting the pit that is room 127. Low lights of 127 included, no headboard and God only knows what on the walls, especially at the pillow end of the bed! No refreshments Peeling wallpaper, dirty carpets, litter on floor, used candles on the bath, layers of damaged seal around the bath, dirty toilet etc etc. I could go on; in any event, we weren’t staying! No highlights! Back to reception where man had vanished! Other random men found him, in an extremely short conversation we said the room was appalling; he said he’d sort a refund with Booking.com. Man that was all she wrote! no offer of a better room, just he’d sort it! Luckily for us, we were able to drive back to the daughters new house for food and then home, it spoilt a planned night out; and our daughter was really upset! Once we showed her the pictures we’d taken she was understanding though. SO TO BE ACCURATE, THIS PLACE IS A DUMP, and as other reviews have implied only exists for dodgy purposes or is a bail hostel, or services illegal) migrants; something ain’t right, clearly “ proper” guests are not part of the business plan. Further to my issues with the establishment itself; what on earth are Booking. com playing at even entertaining advertising place’s like this. Booking.com; man up, visit these cess pits and drop them, AND what exactly do the regulatory and local authorities do with the taxes we pay them? This place is grim, unhygienic and unsanitary and unless these characteristics are an essential in some aspect of this sector, then this place should be shut and the owners brought to book! Finally to Booking.com; a second “man up”; no right minded person would willing stay in the room we were offered so stop jerking my daughter around and sort her refund out; £40 odd is owed, which was &40 odd more than the room was ever worth!
