Visited here as have driven past many times and seen the sign on The A303. Very nice place, but of a tardis inside. We both had the jerk chicken and creole rice, very tasty, just not much chicken as it was a leg, could have eaten two. Will definitely be back. View all feedback.

We went for a lunch time meal and was blown away by the helpfulness and amazing food. I’ve had bariatric surgery and can only eat a very small portion and had to be plain and simple. Well the lovely chef and bar assistant were so helpful and accommodating. The chef cooked a lovely piece of fish not in batter, mash and veg. Tasty and a child portion with no fuss. Food is top quality and reasonably priced.

We were six gay guys from London but really Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Antigua, Dubai, and England in West Camel for a Covid ‘staycation’. We went to the pub and the food was amazing, the service great, and the welcome fantastic. The authentic Caribbean food was a real treat and something we didn’t expect to get in a small Somerset town. To say we were pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. We have already recommended the place to our friends who are coming to Somerset next week!
Travelling East to West, heading to Bude, we came across The Walnut Tree when looking for a snack and a short break from the long journey. A great find. We opted for the Caribbean tapas and found the whole experience very authentic tremendous flavours, having opted for 2 different chicken options (thighs and wings), accompanied by an excellent homemade coleslaw. The staff were also very friendly and came out to chat to us for a while (a welcomed chat, not a false pretence at hosting). We will make a point of stopping back on our next journey, and will make sure we give ourselves more time to sample more of the menu options available (and there were plenty on offer). I wish the owners all the luck in making this place a great success they certainly have the ingredients to do so!
I am not sure why I am reviewing the Rosewood Restaurant, as we stayed at and dined at the Walnut Tree, which is the same establishment shown in the pictures. When searching for B&Bs in West Camel, you will come across the Walnut Tree. I am unsure where the Rosewood name comes from, perhaps from previous owners. At first glance, the restaurant may seem unimpressive, but upon closer inspection, you will find that it is spotless and the food is surprisingly high quality. While the menu may not be extravagant, the dishes are delicious. I had the prawn tian starter, a perfectly cooked steak, and a delightful almond tart. The rooms also exceeded expectations with high-quality linens, towels, and impeccable cleanliness. I highly recommend this restaurant as it offers great value.
