Beautiful pub, five mins from the A303 hanging baskets outside, thatched cottages around it, flagstones and big fireplaces. Nice garden at the back. All the beers and ciders are local. Great food we had chicken souvlaki, a great pie, squid, chorizo, awesome fries. Perfect lunch stop. View all feedback.
What Stewart G doesn't like about Cat Head Inn:
This beautiful pub is located in a peaceful village and offers a pleasant greeting and lovely interior. However, I was disappointed when I waited over 30 minutes for my first course. I ordered the pork, leek, and Stilton pie, but was underwhelmed by what I received. Instead of a traditional pie, I was served a puff pastry square on top of some pork cubes in a creamy sauce. There was no sign of leeks and no hint of St... View all feedback.
I met my family at this country pub for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was welcoming, with open fires and tasteful furnishings that created a comfortable and friendly environment. We enjoyed a delicious meal, opting for the traditional Sunday lunch which featured perfectly roasted meat and a variety of expertly cooked vegetables. The appetizers and desserts also offered a good selection of choices and were presented beautifully. Overall, the experience was very enjoyable and pleasant. Additionally, the restrooms were clean and well-maintained.
I would give this pub six out of five stars if I could! I absolutely love it. The staff, including the landlord, always give a warm welcome, and the wood fires only add to the cozy atmosphere. The selection of local beers and ciders, all sourced within thirty miles of the pub, is excellent. We had Sunday lunch here and found it to be great value for money and of high quality. If I had to nitpick, the roast potatoes could use some improvement as they were a bit tough around the edges, and the chocolate mousse was unfortunately inedible due to its liquid texture and gritty bits. However, everything else we tried was flawless. The starters were served with fresh, well-dressed salads, and the main courses were well-cooked with tasty sides, especially the cauliflower cheese. The landlord and our waitress were incredibly friendly, making an already perfect pub even better. This place is definitely worth a detour from anywhere nearby to visit!
A beautiful atmosphere to eat tremendously delicious food! We had spectacular lunch of tomahawk pork chop and a scummy burger. (the pork was the best #foodenvy!! The layers of flavours were outstanding.
After two wonderful days in the area we spent our final evening with new found Chiselborough friends and Andrew's gracious hospitality. Terrific meal, beer, and atmosphere. Thank-you Andrew, and send thanks to your friendly, helpful staff. It was most memorable. Until next time, Doug Donna (from Canada)
Excellent Food and atmosphere I would recommend it for Lunch and Dinner. Lovely outside in the garden and Sunday lunch really good
