I was with a large group of cyclists making our first visit. We found the staff very welcoming and the food was excellent- even though 14 of us arrived there at once!! They even looked after our bikes while we dined! This former chapel is worth a visit and we will definitely return View all feedback.
What Jeff Wychwood doesn't like about Capella Lounge:
Wonderful converted old chapel with balcony where you can sit, but the tables on the ground floor have equally impressive ambience. Food is excellent eggs Benedict a delight! Coffee excellent.....but......will it be open when you want to go there? Closed last bank holiday I tried, so tend not to go often as it seems to be a bit of a lottery as to whether it will be open for biz..which is why I have not given this pla... View all feedback.
We found this lovely place by accident. Wonderful food, totally fresh and clean and home cooked in lovely cosy surroundings. Comfy chairs, sparkling dishes and cutlery, everything was spotless and the people who run it were charming. A lovely place to relax and enjoy lovely food or simply some coffee and maybe a bit of cake. Really a charming place.
Unique buikding, really friendly owners, smashing coffee..a star in the high street. Keep it going guys
The breakfast at this charming restaurant was excellent, and they even allow you to bring your dog inside. The service was exceptional and the food was a hidden gem.
After my wife had read the reviews we decided to give the Cappella Lounge a try. The coffee is far better than found in the usual high street coffee house chains. The interior is also far better than the photograph shown on this site. Its service was efficient and friendly, our food exceeded expectations. Also the meals chosen by other customers looked just as appetising. So do not drive past Chard. Find a parking spot and visit and enjoy the Cappella Lounge.
Had half an hour to wait for a prescription so popped in here for a coffee we both agreed it was the best cup of coffee we’ve had since we moved here 3 years ago!As others have said it’s a converted chapel with a balcony. Seating was comfortable and well spaced out also reading material is supplied so the perfect placed to stop for elevenies We didn’t sample the food but intend to on our next visit
