Was looking for some clam chowder while in town and found this mom and pop spot. Very simple concept and good food. Friendly staff. Bread was so fresh I almost went back and purchase me some. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Soup Kitchen:
The tomato soup was unpleasant and left me feeling unwell. The BLT was inedible because the bread was stale, and the produce in my sandwich was not fresh. They tried to cover it up with an excessive amount of mayo, which I didn't even ask for. Overall, it was a complete waste of time and money to go there. Are you selling this place to new owners? Even the broth sticks were not the same quality. My experience with th... View all feedback.
Hole-in-the-wall vibes! This little place is so cute!! The soup and sandwiches are delicious and sooo affordable. To top it off, the people who work there are so extremely kind. I will definitely be coming back!
Tomato soup is DISGUSTING and insanely watered down., BLT was putrid because bread was stale, produce in my sandwich WAS NOT FRESH and you tried to mask it with a killer amount of mayo when I never asked for extra mayo. !Complete waste of and gas to go there. Did y'all sell this to new owners?... because even the bread sticks are NOT the same. Food all around was IFFY. ??
I am so very sad writing this review as well as changing my rating from a five to a one. To be clear this was my favorite comfort food place since ~2008. However, this restaurant has really disappointed me atleast the last 8 to 10 times I've visited... yes, that long because I wanted to just believe they were having an off day and I believe in loyalty. Unfortunately the food has completely gone down hill. I always order the S.K.S with a bowl and a quart of the tomato soup. The sandwich was either served with old hard bread, too much mayo and basically no meat (small amount thrown into the middle), and too much old lettuce with soggy/fatty bacon. The tomato soup used to be the standard and now it always seems watered down with old dirty dish water and no flavor. And the breadsticks, wow, they use to be so good and now they serve dense, tasteless, flour lumps. I am sad to say I won't be returning. The sweet girls/ladies that work there are amazing and so so sweet and kind, I'll miss them but it isn't worth the 30 minute drive each way for disappointing food. ?
Don?t eat at the location on 3300 south. They don?t serve breadsticks anymore. Replaced with some nasty doughy heavy rolls. The chicken salad was awful. Just bland as it can get. Chicken noodle soup was more like chicken and dumplings. I ordered sandwich on wheat I got home to heavy white. This place use to be great. Not anymore try a different location food was just awful.
I always order the S.K.S with a bowl and a quarter of tomato soup. Lately, the sandwich has been served on stale, hard bread, with an excessive amount of mayo and minimal meat, just a small portion placed in the center. The salad is often old and soggy, with greasy bacon. As for the tomato soup, what used to be a standard was now seems diluted, lacking flavor, and reminiscent of dirty dishwater. The broth sticks, which were once fantastic, have turned into dense, tasteless lumps of flour. It pains me to say that I will not be returning. The lovely staff there are sweet and friendly, and I will certainly miss them, but it’s not worth the 30-minute drive for such disappointing meals.
