This is not a grand restaurant just a couple of tables to the rear of the frying pans in this local chippy but the best traditional fish and chips you will find anywhere. My special fish chips peas bread and butter with a cup of tea at £6,40 was absolute delicious, light batter fresh white fish cooked to perfection, crisp chips and generous helping of peas. Portions made it difficult to leave a clean plate while the... View all feedback.
What Lee S doesn't like about Gilly's Traditional Fish And Chips:
I have visited this restaurant twice now. It was recommended to me as the best in Leyland, but I was very disappointed. The chips were terrible and ended up in the bin. This is the worst chippy I have ever been to. The chips tasted overcooked and greasy, like chunks of fat. The fish seemed to be sliced thinly, like it was processed by a machine. It seems like the owner is trying to save money. View all feedback.
I am not from the area, but I decided to stop by today because the fabric shop next door was having a sale. I had never been to this restaurant before and I live about 20 minutes away. I paid £7.95 for two orders of chips, peas, and a jumbo sausage (I added curry to one of them). The price was not bad and the portions were large. However, I was extremely disappointed when I got home and realized that one of the meals was missing the sausage. Additionally, some of the peas were not cooked properly and were hard. I ended up throwing that meal in the bin.
I have been coming to this restaurant every Friday for years. No other fish and chip shop in the area compares. It's always a letdown when it's closed on bank holidays and we have to go somewhere else.

Visit Gillys about once a month and have yet to be disappointed. You can choose to eat in if you wish but generally l bring back home. Portions are generous and food is fresh. Good choice of menu and service is good. By comparison to other Leyland chippies, Gillys is excellent value for money.
Must be the best chippy in Leyland it’s a shame other chippys in Leyland haven’t got the same quality of food. Well done Gilles.
