We stopped here today while on a walk. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Two of us had the carrot cake and it really was outstanding. The other member of our group enjoyed her rocky road cake. We had filter coffee which was good. We sat outside in the sunshine. It is a great little shop run by the community I understand selling a wide variety of products. They even have second hand books. I wanted to thank... View all feedback.
What Woody838 doesn't like about Ewelme Village Store:
Set in a pretty village this should be a gem but due to non existing service and poor coffee give it a miss. Tables not cleared and staff unsure of prices made for an unexpected long stop on our journey. View all feedback.

I wanted to thank the staff and tell them how good the carrot cake was but they had a steady flow of customers when we left. We will call in again next time we walk in Ewelme.
I often cycle from Reading to Ewelme, and always home in on this place for a cup of tea and cake. It never disappoints. A real 'local shop for local people ', it 's always a pleasure to stop here. Its quirkiness is its beauty, and the volunteer staff are always super-friendly and, unusually in this day and age, have time to talk, adding to the joy of the place. Their cakes are locally sourced, and the sandwiches are freshly prepared and tasty, and worth the small wait.
Two tables inside the multipurpose village shop very cute. I think they do soups as well as teas. A range of things to buy in the shop mainly of the posh biscuits variety but also some nice looking fresh fruit, eggs, etc..
