What Alice Cook doesn't like about Cross Keys:
We had a great welcome from the couple managing the pub, very friendly. Not sure I like the fact that the albeit rather cute dog had its paws on the bar. We sat by ourselves which was fine, but returned inside to eat. Corner table with wooden bench, fine but I would have appreciated a cushion. We ordered a burger and a beef and ale pie. The burger was ok, chips very nice but whatever happened to burger buns? Pretzel... View all feedback.

The beer selection is constantly changing, providing customers with new options to try. While the pub doesn't have a kitchen, high-quality food trucks are brought in by the new owners to serve a range of cuisines (check the website for the daily offerings). The garden is a lovely spot to sit on warmer days, and a covered area at the back of the pub offers shelter when it rains. The new owners have done a commendable job, winning several CAMRA awards in a short period of time. The Cross Keys comes highly recommended!
A friend and I decided to visit Wallingford for a street photography trip to brighten up a dark Winter day and we were truly impressed by the Cross Keys. The restaurant is now under new management and has a stunning interior decor, featuring beautiful dark wood and interesting antiques. Dave, the owner, has done a fantastic job with the place. He was welcoming and friendly, and the pub is focused on offering a great selection of beers on both cask and keg. It was a wonderful escape from the bad weather to sit by the fire and enjoy a delicious pint of Rebel or Beavertown Neck Oil. They also have a food truck that stops by, so it's best to check ahead if you're hungry. Dave didn't mind us bringing our own snacks to enjoy, which worked out perfectly for us. In fact, popping into Waitrose for a bite to eat is more affordable than most pub food. The Cross Keys will definitely become our preferred pub in Wallingford, especially with tough competition like The Keep. Please forgive the heavy editing on my street shots of the place. Highly recommended!
There are many superior pubs in Wallingford. Give The Dolphin or The Boathouse a try and you likely won't be disappointed.
Excellent customer service and food was brilliant. We ate outside on the decking under the lights (this pub garden gets the last bit of sunset of all the pubs in Wallingford! .
Popped to the keys last night. Even though we was very close to the kitchen shutting the kind landlord made us these two meals. Was really nice will definitely be visiting again
