I have been going to the Fox and Falcon since it opened a few years ago. I have known the owner, David, from his prior restaurants in Jersey City and NYC that I used to frequent often. We love going to Fox and Falcon and the food is always superb. It has an atmosphere for everyone form the rustic dining room to the cozy Irish pub in the basement. What Terry F doesn't like about The Fox Falcon By David Burke:
Went on a Wednesday evening to check out the DB Snug menu they advertise, but lo and behold the Snug (the downstairs bar) was closed. Made the mistake of staying for the upstairs bar, and was rewarded with lousy service and a mediocre $23 burger (who knows where lurks the advertised $10 Snug burger). Plus, the place has all the local charm of a Ramada on the highway. Not going back. View all feedback.
Food took a half hour to be served and my burger was cold. They wanted to heat it up rather than making a new one. Then they tried to charge me $23 for the burger when the menu listed it for $18. My wife and I were seated at the smallest table possible when there were many open booths. We asked to be moved but we're denied. Those booths were not filled the entire 1 1/2 hours we were there. No apologies or explanations for the cold food and the overcharging.
Obviously the bacon on a clothesline is outrageous and my guest had the burgers that they loved Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: The Burger
The moment we walked in we got captured by the welcoming atmosphere. The warm and cozy environment, the smiles and curtesy from those who greeted us and the perfect table where we got sit prepare us for a wonderful experience. We ordered naked oysters, the DB Clothesline Slab Bacon, the lobster dumplings, jumbo shrimp crushed avocado, lobster dumplings and the gruyere popovers to share among the group. The flavors, quality and presentation of these dishes were all perfect and a reflection of the outstanding work of Chef Mathew Turney and the entire staff. The desserts were the perfect ending to our wonderful experience!! 5 starts are not enough to really describe this amazing restaurant, food, service and staff. We are definitely coming back. Really nice place. The food was nice and fresh. I liked that the bar had open windows near it. We sat at the bar and the bartender forgot to put our appy in and then blamed the kitchen. Forgivable tho. He then forgot my beer. I would go back since the food made up for the service but I was excepting more. Beautiful upbeat place with parking, restaurant food and delicious drinks. We stopped in for a nightcap and it was perfect. The bartender was friendly and knows how to make a good old fashion.
