The food was excellent and the staff were wonderful. They typically close at 9 a.m. on weekdays, but we called ahead to let them know we would be arriving late. Michelle was very friendly and accommodating. Even though we arrived at 9:30, we were welcomed with smiles and hot meals. It's rare to find such hospitality these days. We ordered a vegetarian platter that included six different dishes, which was more than en... View all feedback.
The visit from the Middle West was such a wonderful culinary experience. We loved the food! Fresh, authentic, we enjoyed every bite! Server was friendly and explains all different types of food as we were not familiar with the types. He made us welcome and wanted to realize that we enjoy our experience, thank you for a wonderful culinary experience, we recommend everyone!
Food was awesome! Also the host is very pretty!!! :
I love spiced Injera as appetizer and other vegetables. I love the taste of all vegetarian dishes. The proportion is also large. This is my most favorite and go to place. I highly recommend it. I wish them to be open throughout afternoon specifically during weekdays. I would highly recommend them to be open on Sundays too. Last Saturday when I went there at 3.30pm they were closed. I was so disappointed as I had specifically been to their place from Jersey City just to have their food because I so love it. In addition the Google maps doesn't mention that they are closed during specific hours. So I didn't call them before going.
My family and I love this place. We've been many times and have always had a good experience. The food is great and the service is friendly. I will say that we avoid weekend nights since there is usually a line out the door. I'm glad we live locally and can visit on weeknights. The restaurant is still full but we've never had to wait for a table on a weeknight.
I love the food here. I've lived around here for 15 years and for vegan or vegetarian diners this place is supreme. To me every dish has been terrific and most friends and family members love it as well. The dishes are exotically spiced, not for people on a bland diet. Lalibela Ethiopia Restaurant is on par with the other good Ethiopian places in Montclair and New Brunswick. If Meklit had a bigger place it would be packed every weekend.
